justify;\">As mentioned in previous posts, eating a healthy breakfast is important to both G &amp; I.\u00a0 In winter we usually\u00a0enjoy a bowl of porridge and in the warmer months we both like some\u00a0kind of cereal.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve been making quite a bit of bircher recently but G wanted a change.\u00a0 Normally we would just go for a store bought option but lately we have been reading the labels and have not really been happy with any of the options.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Because breakfast has always been something that I enjoy to eat I don&#8217;t mind having quite a big meal early in the day.\u00a0 So I decided to make us some toasted muesli.\u00a0 I would never buy toasted muesli because of the fat content and I actually don&#8217;t really like untoasted muesli because it has that raw oat taste that makes me\u00a0feel like I&#8217;m chewing on a spoonful of flour.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I have made this recipe several times over the years and have adapted it along the way.\u00a0 This is my favourite version so far.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ce2307;\">cranberry and almond toasted muesli\u00a0(original recipe by <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lifestylefood.com.au\/recipes\/27\/blueberry-and-almond-toasted-muesli\"><span style=\"color: #ce2307;\">Bill Granger<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #ce2307;\">\u00a0adapted by Fiona at Food 4 Thought)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>\nmakes approximately\u00a06 \u00bd cups<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #346c17;\">Ingredients<\/span><em><br \/>\n<\/em>300g (3 cups)\u00a0rolled oats<br \/>\n125ml (\u00bd cup) apple juice<br \/>\n2 tablespoons vegetable oil<br \/>\n80g (\u00bd cup) raw almonds<br \/>\n65g (\u00bd cup) sunflower seeds\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>\n80g (\u00bd cup) pumpkin seeds<br \/>\n40g (\u00bc cup) sesame seeds<br \/>\n80g (\u00bd cup) raw cashews<br \/>\n80g (\u00bd cup) sultanas<br \/>\n80g (\u00bd cup) dried cranberries<br \/>\n<em>raspberry swirl yoghurt<br \/>\n<\/em>\u00bd cup raspberry<br \/>\n1 cup plain yoghurt\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #346c17;\">Preparation<br \/>\n<\/span>Preheat the oven to 160\u00b0C (315\u00b0F\/Gas 2-3).\u00a0 Line a large\u00a0baking tray with non-stick baking paper.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Place all the ingredients, except for the sultanas and dried cranberries, in a large bowl and stir well to combine.\u00a0 Spread the mixture evenly over the baking tray and place in the oven for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally until lightly browned.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Remove from the oven, allow to cool then add the sultanas and dried cranberries.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Serve with the raspberry swirl yoghurt and milk.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #346c17;\">My\u00a0tips\/alterations:<\/span>\u00a0 *I switched the ingredients a little from the original recipe by removing the coconut and\u00a0dried blueberries\u00a0and adding the cashew nuts, sultanas and dried cranberries.\u00a0 You can add fresh seasonal\u00a0fruit when you serve it if you like.\u00a0\u00a0*You can make this gluten-free by substituting the oats with your favourite ingredient.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-2290\" href=\"http:\/\/www.foodfourthought.com.au\/blog\/?attachment_id=2290\"><img decoding=\"async\" <\/strong>plus cooling<br \/>\n<strong>total:\u00a040 mins<\/strong> plus cooling<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>taste: 9\/10.<\/strong>\u00a0 This muesli is delicious.\u00a0 It has lots of textural and flavour differences because of the range of ingredients.\u00a0 I also love the fact that it is so healthy in comparison to many of the pre-packaged brands.\u00a0 For us this is definitely a breakfast winner.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>would I make it again:\u00a0Yes<\/strong> this will become our alternate when we need a break from
