by Ingeborg Pils adapted by Fiona at Food 4 Thought)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>\nmakes approximately 35 bone shape biscuits<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #346c17;\">Ingredients<\/span><em><br \/>\n<\/em>225g (8oz) whole wheat flour<br \/>\n85g (6oz) porridge or rolled oats<br \/>\n20g (\u00beoz) shortening (pork lard)*\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00bd tablespoon sunflower oil<br \/>\n20g (\u00beoz) grated parmesan cheese<br \/>\n200ml\u00a0(7 fl ozs) unsalted chicken stock<br \/>\n125g (4\u00bdozs) carrot\u00a0<br \/>\n85g (3ozs) corn kernels<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #346c17;\">Preparation<br \/>\n<\/span>Mix flour, oats, shortening*, oil and cheese thoroughly.\u00a0 Add chicken stock and mix to a dough.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Preheat the oven to 160\u00b0C (320\u00b0F).\u00a0 Finely grate the carrots, add these and the corn kernels into the dough.\u00a0 Roll out the dough on a floured surface to a thickness of about 5mm (\u00bcinch).\u00a0 Cut with a sharp knife to make diamonds, triangles or squares.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Line a baking sheet with non-stick paper and place biscuits on it.\u00a0 Bake in oven for 40-50 minutes.\u00a0 Turn off heat and allow the biscuits to dry out in the oven.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #346c17;\">My\u00a0tips\/alterations:<\/span>\u00a0 *The original recipe included crushed garlic which I omitted.\u00a0 I also substituted the\u00a0shortening with butter.\u00a0 I added the corn because it is one of Miss B&#8217;s favour vegetables.\u00a0 *I found this mixture quite sticky and had to make sure that the bench was well floured when rolling it out to prevent sticking.\u00a0 *I used a 9cm (3\u00bd inch)\u00a0long bone shaped cookie cutter to cut my biscuits.\u00a0 They were slightly difficult to cut because of the vegetables.\u00a0 I think using a knife would be much simpler.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ease: 8.5\/10.<\/strong>\u00a0<br \/>\n<strong>prep time:<\/strong> <strong>30mins.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>cooking time: 45mins <\/strong>plus drying out time<br \/>\n<strong>total:\u00a01 hour 15 mins<\/strong> plus drying out time<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>taste: 9\/10.<\/strong>\u00a0 These were Miss B&#8217;s favourite and given they are safe for human consumption I tried them also.\u00a0 I can&#8217;t believe I&#8217;m about to describe a dog biscuit but here goes.\u00a0 They were really nice.\u00a0 Great crunch but still chewy the vegetables were quite sweet, everything a puppy could want in a biscuit.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>would I make it again:\u00a0Yes<\/strong>\u00a0for\u00a0our puppy of course.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ce2307;\"><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-2118\" href=\"http:\/\/www.foodfourthought.com.au\/blog\/?attachment_id=2118\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2118\" title=\"Miss B\" src=\"http:\/\/www.foodfourthought.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Blog-PT-2-051210-with-C-575x485.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"575\" height=\"485\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.foodfourthought.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Blog-PT-2-051210-with-C-575x485.jpg 575w, https:\/\/www.foodfourthought.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Blog-PT-2-051210-with-C-300x253.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.foodfourthought.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Blog-PT-2-051210-with-C-150x126.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.foodfourthought.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Blog-PT-2-051210-with-C-400x337.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.foodfourthought.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Blog-PT-2-051210-with-C.jpg 807w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 575px) 100vw, 575px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ce2307;\">honey dog biscuits (recipe from\u00a0&#8220;Cooking for your dog&#8221;
