is a time when I find it extremely easy to stay at home,\u00a0eat\u00a0comfort food and invariable put on weight.\u00a0 By the time summer comes around I have to work really hard to try and reverse things.\u00a0\u00a0Recently I made a decision to try and avoid that cycle this year and eat a little healthier throughout the colder months.\u00a0 G is on board also, so we can keep each other on track. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To achieve this, food must be satisfying\u00a0in addition to tasting good.\u00a0 \u00a0It must also be fairly quick and easy so that it is something we can prepare after work.\u00a0 Over the past few days I&#8217;ve trawled through a couple of my cookbooks and marked a few recipes that may be possibilities.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Generally speaking,\u00a0many years of previously being a vegetarian means that I can take or leave a meal that includes meat whereas G is a meat lover.\u00a0 So normally if I suggest we have something that doesn&#8217;t include his beloved ingredient G is none too happy, however, when I described this dish he said &#8220;Yum, when are we having it?&#8221;\u00a0 So you can imagine my excitement and desire to make this very soon.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ce2307;\">spaghetti alla puttanesca\u00a0\u2013 (recipe by Jill Dupleix \u2013 adapted by Fiona at Food 4 Thought)<br \/>\nserves 4 for lunch<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #346c17;\">My tips\/alterations:<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0*I added an extra 2 anchovy fillets because we love them.\u00a0 *I didn&#8217;t have a can of cherry tomatoes so I used 300g of fresh cherry tomatoes and 200ml of tomato passata (crushed tomatoes) that I had made some time ago.\u00a0 *I also didn&#8217;t have any oregano so I used its cousin, marjoram.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-911\" href=\"http:\/\/www.foodfourthought.com.au\/blog\/?attachment_id=911\"><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-1276\" href=\"http:\/\/www.foodfourthought.com.au\/blog\/?attachment_id=1276\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1276\" justify;\"><strong>ease: 9\/10.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>\n<strong>prep time:<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>15mins.\u00a0 <\/strong>Rolling the mixture into balls takes most of this.<br \/>\n<strong>cooking time: 10mins.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>total: 25mins.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>taste: 8\/10.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Some simple dishes are just as good as those with complex flavours and this\u00a0dish is a good\u00a0example of that.\u00a0 It was clean on the palate yet\u00a0flavoursome and allowed us to taste each ingredient within it.\u00a0 G rated this 7\/10, not too bad coming from my little carnivore. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>would I make it again:\u00a0\u00a0Yes.<\/strong>\u00a0 Something that tastes\u00a0as good as this did in\u00a0less than\u00a030 minutes is definitely to be repeated.<\/p>\n<p><a
