You might ask.\u00a0 Sometimes I tell my story about how I started in this\u00a0 business during my demos.\u00a0 Briefly, I owned every kitchen appliance known to man.\u00a0 I was as addicted to buying kitchen \u201cgadgets\u201d as much as many of my friends were to buying clothes and shoes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Then one fine Sunday summers afternoon, my gorgeous girlfriend Alex invited me to a Thermomix demo.\u00a0 Being one of the \u201cfoodies\u201d in the group meant that I needed to know what this thing was and its capabilities.\u00a0 So I did 2 weeks of solid\u00a0research before attending the demo.\u00a0 Upon arrival I told all twelve other guests that they needed to buy one because they were amazing (I watched many YouTube\u00a0 videos and &#8211; despite my intense searching &#8211; couldn\u2019t find anything bad about it on the internet).\u00a0 When asked if I was going to buy one I told them all that I had\u00a0everything and didn\u2019t need \u201canother kitchen appliance\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">By the end of the demo I was blown away and waited until everyone else left to chat to the Consultant.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t purchase then and there despite my excitement.\u00a0 I (like many of my clients) couldn\u2019t justify the cost and needed to digest what I had seen as it was slightly\u00a0unbelievable.\u00a0 My Consultant was wonderful and kept following up with me to see if she could assist (and thank goodness she did).\u00a0 Three weeks later (after more research) I signed up with Thermomix and my life changed forever.\u00a0 I no longer stand in the kitchen for hours after work, cooking is exciting again and not a chore.\u00a0 The best thing (or two), we are eating natural healthy food with no chemicals and saving money!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Now I adapt my old recipes to the Thermomix and share them with you all.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This is my Nanna&#8217;s recipe that I have been making for many years.\u00a0 I like it because it is (to me) a true Banana Bread rather than a cake that is called bread.\u00a0 So you will find it not that sweet, firmer than some other recipes and hopefully more delicious :).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I&#8217;d love to hear what recipe you&#8217;ve changed over to the Thermomix.\u00a0 Leave me a comment below or on my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Food-4-Thought-Thermomix\/193191597399971?ref=hl\">FB page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ce2307;\">banana bread \u2013 (recipe by Fiona at Food 4 Thought).<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ce2307;\"> makes 1 loaf or 4 x 250g mini loaves<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #346c17;\">Ingredients<\/span><br \/>\n120g sugar<br \/>\n60g butter<br \/>\n280g\u00a0self-raising flour<br \/>\n1 teaspoon baking powder<br \/>\n\u00bd teaspoon salt<br \/>\n2 eggs<br \/>\n150g milk<br \/>\n1 teaspoon vanilla extract<br \/>\n300g banana flesh, in chunks (from 2-3 ripe large bananas)<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #346c17;\">Preparation<\/span><br \/>\nPreheat the oven to 170\u00b0C with the fan on.\u00a0 Line and\/or spray a loaf tin or 4 moulds approx. 250g in each.<\/p>\n<p>Add sugar to TM bowl and mill for <strong>3 seconds on speed 10<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Scrape down sides of bowl, add butter and heat for <strong>50\u00b0C<\/strong>, for<strong> 2\u00a0 minutes<\/strong> on <strong>speed 1.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong>Add remaining ingredients and mix for<strong> 10 seconds on speed 5.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pour into\u00a0prepared moulds.\u00a0\u00a0Bake for 45-55 minutes for large loaf tin or 25-30 minutes for smaller cakes or until golden and a skewer inserted in centre comes out clean.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Slice when cool and serve with a smear of soft butter.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #346c17;\">My tips\/alterations:<\/span> *If you prefer to have chunks of banana in your bread use the reverse button for the final mix.\u00a0 *I have used two different size loaf tins for this recipe &#8211; 26cm x 10cm and 21cm x 11cm &#8211; and both work equally well.\u00a0 *Previously I have done a recipe for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodfourthought.com.au\/blog\/?p=523\">Chocolate chip banana bread<\/a>. \u00a0I have since made this recipe and added 100g Lindt 70% dark chocolate (broken into smallish pieces) when I added the banana chunks.
